Outback & Reef – 3 wks
This is a special tour that offers the uniquely Australian contrast of tropical beaches and red sand desert tracks. Covering 5000km, there are a minimum of 14 days of riding.
Three weeks would be possible, we recommend a month to six weeks for maximum enjoyment. There’s a lot to see!
The first half of the adventure takes you over the Great Dividing Range and north into the Outback Queenland. There’s open plains and harsh cattle country, giving way to mythical Outback of Far North Queensland.
Did you know that the two places on the long east coast of Australia where the mountains meet the sea are located at MHA’s base in Coffs Harbour and at the northern tip of this tour loop in Cairns?
The ride south travels down the Pacific Highway with any number of opportunities to enjoy tropical beaches or to take a boat or helicopter trip to the islands of the Great Barrier Reef.
Further south you’ll wind through the cane fields of Bundaberg, famous for its rum. Scenic back roads take you through the Glasshouse Mountains and the Sunshine Coast.
Crossing the Border Ranges, you’re back in NSW, traveling through Byron Bay and south to Coffs Harbour.
